Martinook scored a goal, added two hits and blocked two shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers.
Martinook (lower body) is expected to be in the lineup versus the Red Wings on Saturday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
The veteran forward is always ready to go to battle for his team. Plays with energy on the ice and brings that same energy to the locker room. Is a competitor who can win pucks, does the dirty work of getting back on defense and works the corners well. He will never be a big scorer at the NHL level but is the type of player teams want in depth roles.
